Since the day it was established, Bilgili Holding has pursued socially responsible projects surrounding cultural heritage, education and health, all in an effort to contribute to the sustainable development of social life.
ATATURK MANSION IN THESSALONIKI
This project involved surveying and restoring Ataturk Mansion, located in the yard of the Turkish Embassy in Thessaloniki. It was developed by Bilgili Holding under the guidance of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Turkish Republic, and carried out with the approval of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and High Council of Monuments of Greece. Bilgili Holding managed the Turkish and Greek contractors who restored the Thessaloniki Ataturk Mansion, with the building opening its doors to visitors as a museum in August 2013.
CEREMONIAL PAVILION OF TOPKAPI PALACE
Sultan Mahmud II built the Ceremonial Pavilion in 1820 to allow him and his high state officials to watch parades. Restored by Bilgili Holding, the Ceremonial Pavilion of Topkapi Palace opened its doors in February, 2008 after restoration work had been completed under the approval and specifications of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums of the Turkish Republic.
SUZAN – ABULHAKIM BILGILI SEFAKOY COMMUNITY EDUCATION CENTER
Built on behalf of Abdulhakim Bilgili and his deceased wife Suzan Bilgili, the Abdulhakim Bilgili Community Education Center was gifted to the Provincial Directorate of National Education in July, 1998. The project, designed to meet the educational needs of the region, includes five classrooms, one multipurpose hall, a cafeteria and administrative offices on a 668-square-meter site.
SUZAN - ABDÜLHAKİM BİLGİLİ FOUNDATIONS GUEST HOUSE
The Foundations Guest House was created by restoring an old, derelict residence that had once belonged to the General Directorate of Foundations, Istanbul’s first Regional Directorate. The project took from February-September, 2009, and consists of a basement, ground floor and four additional floors for a total area of 513 square meters. The building has 16 rooms and holds 32 beds. It opened in September, 2009.
SUZAN – ABDULHAKIM BILGILI YALIKAVAK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Located in Yalikavak, Bodrum, and built on behalf of Abdulhakim Bilgili and his deceased wife Suzan, this building opened as an elementary and nursery school in November, 2011. It has 24 classrooms and a capacity for 720 students in an enclosed area of 3,600 square meters. Its premises provide 100% educational support, and were constructed under the approval and guidance of the Provincial Directorate of National Education of Bodrum of the Ministry of National Education, Turkey. The school continues to serve as a model project.
SUZAN – ABULHAKIM BILGILI KAHRAMANMARAS COMMUNITY EDUCATION CENTER
The construction of Suzan and Abdulhakim Bilgili Community Education Center began in January, 2006. The building consists of six display rooms, twelve classrooms, a library, a multipurpose hall, a cafeteria and administrative offices on a site of 3,600 square meters. It brings together the many services that the Directorate of Community Education used to offer in numerous buildings under a single roof.
SUZAN AND ABULHAKIM BILGILI RIVA FAMILY HEALTH CENTER
The construction of this village clinic—which offers 24-hour service in an enclosed area of 750 square meters in Riva Village, Beykoz—begun in July, 2010 and was completed in May, 2011. The Family Health Center meets the region’s long-term health needs, and serves as a model for future health centers with its authentic architecture and carefully considered location.
