The land overlooking Türkbükü Bay from its upper elevations can be described as a steeply sloping hillside. The fragmented area, from which we can see almost the entire bay in an arc shape, also shapes the character of the settlement.
The fragmented villa residential fabric in the area keeps alive a distant and nostalgic feeling, at least partially, that belongs to the rural-character regions of the Aegean. For this reason, we place this feeling, defined partly in reality and partly in memory, at the fundamental starting point of the project.
Our aim is to connect the structures within the plot to the landscape, texture and nature by creating fragments, terraces and levels. Even though we are establishing a dense residential settlement, our fundamental goal is to partially dissolve this density through stone wall and fragmented level relationships, and to make it part of the geography by keeping it less visible through different color and texture compositions.
The settlement, consisting of a total of 7 residences of varying sizes, is generally composed of small residences. Placing these residential units with 20–30 m² living spaces to maximize outdoor use, and reconfiguring multiple living possibilities, different orientation and shading characteristics, and view effects stand out as the fundamental elements composing the project.
